El mes pasado comentamos aquí mismo la conveniencia de hacer un seguimiento al canal de Youtube de «The Acetaters» porque prometía a los fans de ELO/JEFF grandes noticias en cuanto a audios y vídeos de nuestra banda favorita se refiere. Si a este grupo de personas le añadimos la colaboración exclusiva del archivista Jorge Devincenzi, podemos presumir de tener un tándem ideal e idóneo que no ha hecho nada más que comenzar a trabajar y lanzar lo que pocos esperábamos y que ya está aquí en forma de anuncio primero y, presumiblemente como concierto completo en breves fechas que nadie puede perderse…
Se trata, nada más y nada menos que, del concierto «LIVE IN CLEVELAND 1978 DE ELO» en una calidad más que aceptable para esas fechas… Sólo el vídeo de presentación ya consigue elevar los ánimos como hace mucho que no habíamos experimentado… ¡Esperando que llegue el momento!…
Durante muchos años, hemos esperado encontrar algún material nuevo y, a pesar de fracasar una y otra vez, nuestros esfuerzos han merecido la pena y hoy, en junio de 2022, presentamos una rara avis.
Este proyecto no tiene fines comerciales. Es un homenaje a los fans que apoyaron a la banda durante 50 años y un homenaje a los que a lo largo de los años han fallecido y no pudieron disfrutar de este material.
En 1977, Electric Light Orchestra publicó su doble álbum «Out Of The Blue» con gran éxito de crítica. La gira que lo acompañó, apodada The Big Night en Estados Unidos, cautivó al público con un escenario construido con una nave espacial y un espectáculo de luces láser de última generación. La gira se convertiría en la gira de conciertos más taquillera de 1978, y la parte norteamericana de la gira batió muchos récords de asistencia y ventas.
Una residencia de ocho noches en el Wembley Arena llevó a la publicación de un álbum/película de conciertos, Live At Wembley. El lanzamiento fue criticado por estar fuertemente editado y por cortar muchas de las canciones que se tocaron esa noche debido a problemas de afinación. Hasta la fecha, no existe una grabación completa de la legendaria gira «Out Of The Blue» de E.L.O.

Last month we commented right here on the advisability of following up on "The Acetaters" Youtube channel because it promised ELO/JEFF fans great news in terms of audio and video from our favorite band. If we add to this group of people the exclusive collaboration of the archivist Jorge Devincenzi, we can boast of having an ideal and suitable tandem that has done nothing more than start working and launch what few of us expected and that is already here in the form of an announcement first and, presumably as a complete concert in short dates that no one can miss…
It is nothing more and nothing less than the concert "LIVE IN CLEVELAND 1978 DE ELO" in a more than acceptable quality for those dates… Only the presentation video already manages to raise our spirits as we had not experienced for a long time… Waiting for the moment to come!…
For many years we have hoped to find some new material and despite failing time and time again our efforts have paid off and today in June 2022 we present a rare bird.
This project is not for commercial purposes. It is a tribute to the fans who supported the band for 50 years and a tribute to those who have passed away over the years and could not enjoy this material.In 1977, Electric Light Orchestra released their double album "Out Of The Blue" to critical acclaim. The accompanying tour, dubbed The Big Night in the United States, wowed audiences with a stage built out of a spaceship and a state-of-the-art laser light show. The tour would become the highest-grossing concert tour of 1978, with the North American leg of the tour breaking many attendance and sales records.
An eight night residency at Wembley Arena led to the release of a concert film/album, Live At Wembley. The launch wascriticized for being heavily edited and for cutting many of the songs played that night due to tuning problems. To date, there is no complete recording of E.L.O's legendary "Out Of The Blue" tour.
