Hubo una vez…

…una web con permisos de oficialidad obtenidos por el TEAM JEFF y que perduró en el tiempo dando noticias oficiales de ELO/JEFF creíbles, puesto que venían con el beneplácito de los responsables de los más allegados al líder de ELECTRIC LIGHT ORCHESTRA, una web de ELO que era fiable y más o menos estaba actualizada. Una web administrada y firmada por el supuesto archivista, por aquella época, de la banda. Una web a la que todos rendíamos pleitesía por ser el cénit de la nave de ELO por aquél entonces y, que, de un día para otro cerró sus puertas sin dar explicación alguna, dejándonos, de alguna manera, huérfanos a quienes la seguíamos a diario esperando buenas nuevas. Quizá desavenencias o negligencias obligaron a ello…

Hoy nos queda la web Jeff Lynne’s ELO – Official Website como último recurso más cercano a JEFF LYNNE y como único hilo conductor hacia la existencia de lo que es y un día diremos, fue ELO. Desfasada y apenas actualizada actual y anualmente, y siempre bajo el temor de que, cualquier día de estos, al intentar acceder a ella ya no exista y sea el EPÍLOGO a una historia épica y singularísima de la cual vivimos tantos fans épocas de esplendor.

Cabe la posibilidad de que, aquellas webs que queden dedicadas a ELO/JEFF desde tiempos inmemoriales vayan apagando sus luces y cerrando sus puertas por la falta de vida dentro de la que fue nuestra nave nodriza y, finalmente todo el escenario quede a oscuras y en silencio. ¡Qué bonito hubiese sido que por parte del TEAM JEFF hubiesen reconocido la labor de éstas, aún sin dar más que su nombre dentro de la oficial en una sección dedicada a ellas por su dedicación y divulgación de ELO/JEFF. Aunque, si os soy sincero, no hay mejor recompensa que la de haber vivido tantos éxitos en directo y en vivo. Yo con eso ya me siendo dichoso.

Aún con todo y con eso, he de decir que, he sido afortunado entre estos últimos, pues al final tuve mi recompensa por tantos años dedicados a divulgar «la buena nueva», y no fue sólo una vez, ni tampoco dos… y de ello me congratulo y doy gracias a JEFF. La verdad es que cualquier detalle es suficiente para quienes seguimos estando oteando el horizonte a diario en busca de señales desde la antena ya en desuso de nuestra nave.

Hubo una vez una web con el nombre de FACE THE MUSIC que nos hizo soñar, vibrar, reír y hasta saltar de alegría, hasta que un día cerró sus puertas y desapareció para siempre como presagio de lo que vendría no mucho tiempo después… Lo bueno es que, todavía nos queda la web oficial de JEFF LYNNE pero ¿hasta cuándo?

It was a reliable and relatively updated ELO site, managed and signed by the band's supposed archivist at the time. A site we all revered as the pinnacle of the ELO mothership back then, which, from one day to the next, shut its doors without any explanation, leaving those of us who followed it daily feeling somewhat orphaned while waiting for good news. Perhaps disagreements or mismanagement led to its closure...
Today, we are left with the Jeff Lynne's ELO – Official Website as the closest remaining resource tied to JEFF LYNNE and as the sole link to what ELO is—and one day will be remembered as. However, it’s outdated, scarcely updated annually, and always with the looming fear that one day, upon trying to access it, it will no longer exist—becoming the epilogue to an epic and unparalleled story during which so many fans lived through moments of splendor.
It’s possible that the remaining websites dedicated to ELO/JEFF, which have existed for ages, will gradually turn off their lights and close their doors due to the lack of life within what was once our mothership. In the end, the entire stage might go dark and silent. How wonderful it would have been if the TEAM JEFF had acknowledged the work of these websites—even just by naming them within the official one, in a section dedicated to their devotion and promotion of ELO/JEFF. Although, to be honest, there is no greater reward than having experienced so many successes live and in person. For me, that alone makes me feel blessed.
Even so, I must admit that I’ve been fortunate among the last of us because, in the end, I was rewarded for so many years dedicated to spreading "the good news"—and not just once, nor twice. For that, I am grateful and give thanks to JEFF. The truth is, any gesture is enough for those of us still scanning the horizon daily for signals from the now-unused antenna of our mothership.
Once upon a time, there was a website called FACE THE MUSIC that made us dream, vibrate, laugh, and even jump with joy—until one day it closed its doors and vanished forever, foreshadowing what was to come not long afterward. The silver lining is that we still have JEFF LYNNE's official website, but... for how long?
