Genesis Publications «Songs By George Harrison» Volumes 1 & 2 CD Editions
En 1987 Genesis Publications editó el primero de dos volúmenes titulados «SONGS BY GEORGE HARRISON» y, aunque no fuese por aquel entonces muy conocido, curiosamente, fue JEFF LYNNE quien realizó el prólogo de ese primer tomo, en el que también apareció su figura en una de las ilustraciones interiores junto a otros amigos de GEORGE, que recogemos en este artículo para aquellos que no conozcan de su existencia.
Volumen 1. En 1985 el artista Keith West conoció a George Harrison y así comenzó una estrecha colaboración para producir un impresionante conjunto de acuarelas que ilustran las muchas canciones memorables del compositor.
Del Volumen 1 se editaron 2500 ejemplares, cada uno de ellos está firmado por George Harrison y Keith West, y está encuadernado a mano en un hermoso cuero negro de tres cuartos con grabados dorados, presentado en una caja de solander hecha a mano. Un CD alojado en un cajón deslizante dentro de la caja contiene material inédito. El método de producción supuso la realización de detallados estudios a lápiz tras una cuidadosa discusión sobre todas las letras.
Keith, uno de los mejores artistas de acuarela botánica del mundo, pronto se encontró viajando regularmente desde su casa de campo en el norte de Gales a Oxfordshire para discutir con George sobre las interpretaciones de las letras de sus canciones con el fin de preparar las ilustraciones para este volumen.
Para complementar estas encantadoras imágenes, el artista ha escrito a mano la letra de las canciones. Las letras están adornadas con pequeñas pinturas adicionales que poseen un encanto irresistible.

In 1987 Genesis Publications published the first of two volumes entitled "SONGS BY GEORGE HARRISON" and, although it was not very well known at that time, curiously, it was JEFF LYNNE who wrote the prologue to that first volume, in which his figure also appeared in one of the interior illustrations together with other friends of GEORGE, which we collect in this article for those who do not know of its existence.
Volume 1. In 1985 artist Keith West met George Harrison and thus began a close collaboration to produce a stunning set of watercolors illustrating the composer's many memorable songs.2,500 copies of Volume 1 were printed, each signed by George Harrison and Keith West, and hand-bound in beautiful three-quarter size black leather with gilt etchings, presented in a handcrafted solander box. A CD housed in a sliding drawer within the box contains previously unreleased material. The method of production involved detailed pencil studies after careful discussion of all the letters.
One of the world's greatest botanical watercolor artists, Keith soon found himself traveling regularly from his country home in North Wales to Oxfordshire to discuss interpretations of his song lyrics with George in order to prepare the illustrations for this volume.
ForComplementing these enchanting images, the artist has handwritten the lyrics to the songs. The letters are embellished with small additional paintings that have an irresistible charm.
