Hoy queremos daros a conocer un fragmento de un tema inédito de George Harrison descubierto casualmente hace casi 8 años según cuenta la historia.
Se trata de la demo de una canción de la cantante y actriz Charlie Dore, llamada «Fear Of Flying» (temor a volar), y de la cual se comentó que fue grabada entre 1979 y 1980 cuando Dore visitó a Harrison en Friar Park.

Según parece, esta demo fue descubierta por Olivia Harrison mientras buscaba material en los archivos de su marido. Olivia aportó un fragmento de un minuto de este tema para el programa de su amigo Jools Holland de la BBC Radio 2, en una entrevista llevada a cabo en octubre de 2014.
Cuando Dore dijo: En realidad yo no estaba allí cuando George grabó esto. Lo recuerdo cogiendo una guitarra y tocando la canción una noche en su casa, y sabía que tenía el single porque estaba en el Juxebox de su cocina. No supe hasta después de su muerte que existía esta demo. Me conmueve mucho que le haya gustado la canción y me encanta la forma en que la canta…
El tema tiene su correspondiente remix con overdubs de banda completa, y con resultados sonoros al típico estilo pop de JEFF LYNNE sin qué él haya participado en absoluto en él, y que tanto ha influido en George y sus trabajos desde «CLOUD NINE». El remix fue hecho por walrusz y este es el resultado. Sencillamente fantástico!
Y viene la pregunta obligada acerca de este tesoro escondido, llamado «Fear Of Flying», descubierto hace 8 años y del cual se conoce solo un minuto. ¿Por qué Olivia no lo pasó entero? o ¿Por qué no lo editó luego en una compilación de rarezas de George?
Y esta es una pregunta recurrente que surge y que algunos también han comentado acerca del cuantioso material inédito que aún hoy día no sale de manera oficial. ¿Qué esperan para editarlo de una vez?
Ahora sí, George Harrison y esta gema en forma de demo (incompleto) «Fear Of Flying». Al escucharlo pienso que habría sido genial que George lo grabara y editara en su momento para «Somewhere In England» o en un single. ¡Es tan de su estilo!

Today we want to introduce you to a fragment of an unreleased song by George Harrison discovered by chance almost 8 years ago as the story goes.
This is the demo of a song by the singer and actress Charlie Dore, called "Fear Of Flying", and which was said to have been recorded between 1979 and 1980 when Dore visited Harrison in Friar Park.

Apparently, this demo was discovered by Olivia Harrison while searching for material in her husband's archives. Olivia contributed a one-minute fragment of this topic to her friend Jools Holland's BBC Radio 2 show in an interview in October 2014.
When Dore said: I wasn't actually there when George recorded this. I remember him picking up a guitar and playing the song one night at his house, and I knew he had the single because it was in the Juxebox in his kitchen. I didn't know until after his death that this demo existed. I am very touched that he liked the song and I love the way he sings it…
The song has its corresponding remix with full band overdubs, and with sound results in the typical pop style of JEFF LYNNE without him having participated at all in it, and which has greatly influenced George and his work since "CLOUD NINE". And here comes the obligatory question about this hidden treasure, called "Fear Of Flying", discovered 8 years ago and of which only a minute is known. Why didn't Olivia spend it all? or Why didn't she later issue it into a George rarities compilation?
