Fallece David Leland
David Leland, escritor, director y actor que trabajó con GEORGE HARRISON, Paul McCartney y los TRAVELING WILBURYS a lo largo de sus cinco décadas de carrera, falleció el día de Nochebuena de 2023 a los 82 años sin mencionarse sus causas.
Leland era amigo íntimo de GEORGE HARRISON y trabajó con él en varias ocasiones, dirigiendo varios vídeos de los TRAVELING WILBURYS, como «HANDLE WITH CARE» y la película de 1988 Checking Out, en la que Harrison actuó como productor. Otros de sus vídeos musicales fueron «I WON’T BACK DOWN», de TOM PETTY (en el que también participaron HARRISON y Ringo Starr), y «Brown Eyed Handsome Man», de Paul McCartney.
Tras la muerte de HARRISON, también dirigió el documental CONCERT FOR GEORGE (2003), una película sobre un concierto conmemorativo celebrado en el Royal Albert Hall, en el que participaron los Beatles restantes, PETTY y Eric Clapton. Leland ganó un premio Grammy por su trabajo, y el DVD obtuvo ocho veces el certificado de platino.

David Leland, a writer, director, and actor who collaborated with GEORGE HARRISON, Paul McCartney, and the TRAVELING WILBURYS throughout his five-decade career, passed away on Christmas Eve at the age of 82, with the causes of his death not disclosed.
Leland was a close friend of GEORGE HARRISON and worked with him on several occasions, directing various music videos for the TRAVELING WILBURYS, such as "HANDLE WITH CARE" and the 1988 film Checking Out, in which Harrison served as a producer. Some of his other music videos include "I WON'T BACK DOWN" by TOM PETTY (featuring HARRISON and Ringo Starr) and "Brown Eyed Handsome Man" by Paul McCartney.
After HARRISON's death, he also directed the documentary CONCERT FOR GEORGE (2003), a film about a memorial concert held at the Royal Albert Hall, featuring the remaining Beatles, PETTY, and Eric Clapton. Leland won a Grammy for his work, and the DVD achieved eight times platinum certification.
