ELOcuencias / No me resigno a creer que este 50 ANIVERSARIO ELO quede en el recuerdo como el santoral en un calendario

Aparte de la euforia y el subidón que supone «descubrir», que desde fuentes oficiales, se acordaron del 50 ANIVERSARIO ELO en este año 2021, así como la probable existencia de una lista de «posibles y factibles» artículos para rememorar dicha epopeya, nos llegó con emoción el lanzamiento de un brevísimo vídeo-logo «50th» exclusivo… y hoy, dos meses después, nos encontramos, con casi un tercio de año a las espaldas, sin más regusto en la boca que el recuerdo de esa euforia que apenas llegó y ya se está diluyendo como un azucarillo junto a ese vídeo, perdido ya entre nuestros archivos, quedando como un simple logo de colorines que bien pareciese pintado por «un niño chico»… sin más anuncio, sin más noticia al respecto que ese… «boceto/antojo»… hoy ya disuelto por el «tiempo», como el recuerdo de un santoral en un calendario…

Soy de los que piensan que quizá sea éste nuestro «último tren a Londres». Si esta oportunidad pasa de largo, es muy posible que no hayá otra igual. Si un evento como este no se celebra «a bombo y platillo» ¿qué podemos esperar en adelante? Pienso que aquí han de gastarse todos los cohetes, fuegos de artificio y naves espaciales que queden en los archivos, y que, creedme, no son pocos… O ahora, o posiblemente/lamentablemente/habitualmente no será nunca… Lo peor que puede pasar, es que el tiempo los pierda en la ignorancia de quienes no sepan valorarlos y nunca lleguen a oidos de los que siguieron esperándolos ansiosos toda una vida…

Pasado este aniversario, el mundo ELO se irá alejando de nuestra galaxia como si de un raudo cometa se tratase, dejándonos «sólos en el universo» para siempre… porque la evidencia de que cada día somos menos es un hecho irrefutable.

Aún así, tenemos que ser optimistas y confiar en las últimas noticias que, como viene siendo habitual, apuntan retrasos en todos los lanzamientos previstos, pero que dejan preveer luz allá en el horizonte… Se habla de julio/agosto como «previos» y septiembre como «inicio/comienzo» de la campaña «50th»… en la que, aparte de lo previsto y anunciado «con reservas», se añadiría un posible libro impreso e inédito con notas del propio JEFF… Así, el 50 ANIVERSARIO ELO no es extraño que se celebre sobrepasadas las fechas planeadas. Lo verdaderamente importante es que se celebre, pero que se celebre como es debido, ya que no tendremos otra oportunidad igual nunca…

Por otro lado, hay quienes ya están diciendo que este aniversario es un fracaso a consecuencia del poco interés suscitado en él desde fuentes oficiales. Incluso es más… los hay que aseguran estar dispuestos a ayudar con todo aquello que han podido conseguir recopilar en los últimos veinte años relacionado con ELO, no sólo con material ordinario, si no con demos inéditas y mezclas alternativas que no son pirateadas… Estos «valientes» dicen que esperarán los anuncios oficiales sobre los posibles lanzamientos para el 50 ANIVERSARIO ELO y, si no hay nada de interés… filtrarán todo lo que recopilaron… consistente según ellos en: alrededor de 70 pistas raras y audios inéditos, obteniendo de alguna manera los fans de ELO, lo que tantos años han estado esperando… ¡Bonita iniciativa! «To the jungle rescue!» ¿Y si fuese verdad? ¿Llegaremos todavía a tiempo?

Apart from the euphoria and excitement that comes with "discovering" that from official sources, they remembered the 50th Anniversary of ELO in this year 2021, as well as the probable existence of a list of "possible and feasible" items to commemorate that epic, we received with excitement the release of an exclusive "50th" short video-logo... and today, two months later, with almost a third of the year behind us, there is no more taste in the mouth than the memory of that euphoria that barely arrived and is already dissipating like sugar next to that video, now lost among our files, remaining as a simple logo of colors that might well have been painted by a "little child"... without further announcement, without more news about it than that... "sketch/whim"... now dissolved by "time," like the memory of a calendar's saints...
I am one of those who think that perhaps this is our "last train to London." If this opportunity passes, it is very likely that there won't be another like it. If an event like this is not celebrated "with great fanfare," what can we expect in the future? I think that all the rockets, fireworks, and spaceships remaining in the archives must be used here, and believe me, there are quite a few... It's now or possibly/unfortunately/usually never... The worst that can happen is that time loses them in the ignorance of those who do not know how to value them, and they never reach the ears of those who continued eagerly waiting for them their whole life...
After this anniversary, the ELO world will be moving away from our galaxy as if it were a swift comet, leaving us "alone in the universe" forever... because the evidence that we are fewer every day is an irrefutable fact.
Still, we have to be optimistic and trust the latest news, which, as usual, hints at delays in all planned releases but leaves a light on the horizon... There is talk of July/August as "preliminary" and September as the "start/beginning" of the "50th" campaign... in which, apart from what is planned and announced "with reservations," a possible printed and unpublished book with notes by JEFF would be added... Thus, the 50th Anniversary of ELO is not strange to be celebrated beyond the planned dates. What really matters is that it is celebrated, but that it is celebrated as it should be, as we will not have another opportunity like this...
On the other hand, there are those who are already saying that this anniversary is a failure due to the little interest aroused in it from official sources. Moreover, there are those who claim to be willing to help with everything they have been able to collect in the last twenty years related to ELO, not only with ordinary material but with unpublished demos and alternative mixes that are not pirated... These "brave" individuals say they will wait for the official announcements about possible releases for the 50th Anniversary of ELO and, if there is nothing of interest... they will leak everything they collected... consistent, according to them, with around 70 rare tracks and unpublished audios, somehow giving ELO fans what they have been waiting for for so many years... Nice initiative! "To the jungle rescue!" What if it were true? Will we still make it in time?
