En mayo de 2021 JEFF LYNNE, a través de sus redes sociales y para celebrar el 50 ANIVERSARIO ELO quiso conocer cuáles habían sido los momentos favoritos a lo largo de los años contados por sus fans, y creó una especie de recopilación para conocer sus historias y divulgar algunas de ellas. Para ello sólo había que hacerle llegar a JEFF tu historia y esperar a ser elegido. Algunas de ellas pudimos conocerlas desde las redes sociales oficiales. Otras muchas no.

Esta es la historia real de cómo sobreviví a uno de los peores momentos de mi vida gracias a la música de ELO y como conocer en persona a JEFF LYNNE pudo influir en mi posterior recuperación…

La música de ELECTRIC LIGHT ORCHESTRA me acompaña desde el momento en el que «LIVIN’ THING» entró en mi vida en el verano de 1976 recién cumplidos los 15 años. Desde ese momento, descubrí la grandiosidad de la música de JEFF LYNNE que vive conmigo, tanto en los buenos como en los no tan buenos momentos, porque nunca hubo malos momentos hasta que cumplí los 47, allá por el año 2009.

En 2014, por azar o casualidad, el destino quiso que mis pasos y los pasos de JEFF LYNNE se encontrasen en la Biblioteca de Birmingham y que Phil Hatton, conocedor de mi «patología», obrase el milagro para que pudiese tener frente a mi, a mi ídolo, y también que, a su vez, inmortalizasen en una instantánea ese momento para que yo lo recordase por SIEMPRE.

El 13 de marzo de 2014, JEFF LYNNE me firmó tres discos que guardo con fascinación y respeto. En aquel momento, al permitir que yo pudiese acercarme a él… el «mito», se convirtió en ser humano, se hizo hombre de carne y hueso y me condecoró con su caligrafía, un saludo con la mano y una sonrisa. ¡No podía pedir más! Fue un momento SUBLIME y ÚNICO.

Aunque yo ya lo sabía, él nunca supo que, pocos días después de aquel 13 de marzo, comenzaría para mi en España, un periplo de 36 sesiones de terapia en los que esos recuerdos me ayudaron, de una manera inconmensurable, a salir adelante y victorioso, gracias a su música y a esos breves segundos que pude tenerlo frente a mi, porque cada día, durante cada sesión, venían a mi mente esos momentos envueltos con la música que él creó, superando así mi segunda batalla contra el cáncer.

Soy testigo de que la música de ELO ayuda a sanar cuerpo y mente. Como también lo soy, de que hay algo en JEFF LYNNE que lo hace ESPECIAL y ÚNICO con respecto a los demás seres humanos. Su música es terapéutica, ya que me ayudó en 2009 a luchar y levantarme, así como en 2014 a volver a enfrentarme y vencer. Él es un genio compositor y productor, que sabe perfectamente combinar los sonidos con el tiempo, para así llegar a crear ricas composiciones musicales dignas de merecer ser consideradas obras clásicas imperturbables y perdurables en el tiempo, y valoradas dentro de la musicoterapia como bien de interés mundial.

Considero que tuve mucho más que suerte al poder acudir a esta cita, pero sobre todo al encontrarme allí a mi buen amigo Phil, a quien estaré eternamente agradecido, porque fue quien propició el encuentro frente a frente con el SER DE LUZ que infundió en mi la fuerza y el valor para, a través de su recuerdo y su música, enfrentarme a mi peor pesadilla y ganarle por segunda vez la partida. A way of understanding music therapy thanks to ELO
This is the true story of how I survived one of the worst moments of my life thanks to ELO's music and how meeting JEFF LYNNE in person could influence my subsequent recovery…
The music of ELECTRIC LIGHT ORCHESTRA has been with me since the moment "LIVIN' THING" entered my life in the summer of 1976 when I was just 15 years old. From that moment, I discovered the greatness of JEFF LYNNE's music that lives with me, both in good times and not so good times, because there were never bad times until I turned 47, around 2009.
In 2014, by chance or chance, fate wanted my steps and the steps of JEFF LYNNE to be found in the Library of Birmingham and that Phil Hatton, who knows my "pathology", worked the miracle so that I could have my idol in front of me, and also that, in turn, they immortalized that moment in a snapshot so that I would remember it FOREVER.
On March 13, 2014, JEFF LYNNE signed me three albums that I hold with fascination and respect. At that moment, by allowing me to get close to him… the "myth", he became a human being, became a man of flesh and blood and decorated me with his calligraphy, a wave of the hand and a smile. He couldn't ask for more! It was a SUBLIME and UNIQUE moment.
Although I already knew it, he never knew that, a few days after that March 13, a journey of 36 therapy sessions would begin for me in Spain, in which those memories helped me, in an immeasurable way, to get ahead and win, thanks to his music and those brief seconds that I was able to have him in front of me, because every day, during each session, those moments came to my mind wrapped with the music he created, thus overcoming my second battle against cancer.
I am a witness that ELO's music helps to heal body and mind. As I am also, that there is something about JEFF LYNNE that makes him SPECIAL and UNIQUE with respect tothe other human beings. His music is therapeutic, since he helped me fight and get up in 2009, as well as in 2014 to face and win again. He is a genius composer and producer, who perfectly knows how to combine sounds with time, in order to create rich musical compositions worthy of being considered imperturbable and enduring classic works over time, and valued within music therapy as an asset of global interest.
I consider that I was much more than lucky to be able to attend this appointment, but above all to meet my good friend Phil there, to whom I will be eternally grateful, because he was the one who brought about the face-to-face encounter with the BEING OF LIGHT who instilled in me the strength and courage to, through his memory and his music, face my worst nightmare and win the game for the second time. THANKS JEFF.
