A mi desde luego tal como empezó el dia y tal como comentó Kelly en el concierto, no se me ocurriría titular la crónica de otra manera: CONCERTO FOR A RAINY DAY. Por la mañana no se presagiaba nada bueno, diluviando, pero a partir de las 17:00 – 18:00 horas se abrió el sol y se podía ver a los operarios como montaban todo el escenario. Se retrasó el inicio, con lo que tuvimos la suerte de ahorrarnos unas cuantas canciones de la telonera CARMEN VIRUS, y disfrutamos de nuestro grupo a unas horas mas golfas.
Tengo que añadir a lo comentado por otros colegas, que en cuanto al público, ha sido el show donde más arropado he visto a THE ORCHESTRA. La cola de espectadores con su entrada en la mano era impresionante, casi daba la vuelta al estadio, no me lo esperaba ni en broma. Y no sólo se trataba de la cantidad, sino la calidad: hay canciones donde es dificil o imposible hacer ciertos coros originales de Jeff en directo y el público realizaba esos «backing vocals», repito que es la primera vez que he presenciado esto y te deja bastante sorprendido y contento, desde luego. Se puede apreciar en algunas fotos.
Tenemos que dar las gracias al personal de PRODUCIONES DOBLE A (Angela) que cedió cinco entradas a ASDEELO, nos permitió que pudiesemos entrar en el backstage y entregarle un pequeño presente a Kelly en nombre de los fans: una botella de vino de Málaga, gentileza de Jesus Ramirez, que nos agradeció efusivamente, como podreís ver en las fotos.
Como recuerdo y agradecimiento, también nos entregaron el «setlist» oficial ese que tienen los musicos pegados en el escenario, y además nada de fotocopias, como se ve en la foto era a rotulador.
Otro presente que nos entregaron fue un croquis con la disposicion de los intrumentos, micros, etc. en el escenario, y tambien nos obsequiaron con la toalla usada por Kelly en su brillante calva en el concierto.
Como detalle personal, al pricipio del show, con todos los focos encendidos, noté que Kelly me reconoció y me encantó que me hiciese un guiño desde el escenario. Se nota que la labor de la directiva actual de ASDEELO está dando sus frutos, y que estos grandes musicos han notado que como único club de fans oficial van a tener siempre nuestro apoyo y los vamos a arropar cada vez que vengan aqui, que no les quepa duda.
Me resta enviar un saludo a María Sales, Fernando Carrasco y señora, Jose Manuel Cordón, Jose Carlos Blanco, Francisco de Paula, José Luis y Erika, Jesus Ramirez, su hermana y toda la tropa que trajiste… y deciros que he disfrutado una vez mas como un niño chico, antes del show departiendo en el centro comercial, y despues al veros tan felices botando y coreando como locos las canciones de siempre de la ELO, y en este ambiente tan bueno que ha sabido darle San Fernando.

Certainly, given how the day started and as Kelly mentioned during the concert, I couldn’t think of a better title for the review than "Concerto for a Rainy Day". In the morning, the weather didn’t look promising—it was pouring rain. But between 5:00 and 6:00 PM, the sun broke through, and we could see the crew setting up the stage. The start was delayed, which luckily allowed us to skip a few songs by the opening act, Carmen Virus, and enjoy our band at a more relaxed time.
I have to add to what others have mentioned about the audience: this was the show where I’ve seen The Orchestra most warmly received. The line of spectators with their tickets in hand was impressive—it almost wrapped around the stadium, something I never expected, not even as a joke. And it wasn’t just about the quantity but the quality: there are songs where it’s difficult or even impossible to replicate Jeff’s original backing vocals live, but the audience took over and sang those parts. I repeat, this was the first time I’ve witnessed this, and it leaves you both surprised and delighted. You can see it in some of the photos.
We must thank the team at Producciones Doble A (especially Angela) for providing five tickets to ASDEELO, allowing us to enter the backstage area, and presenting Kelly with a small gift on behalf of the fans: a bottle of Malaga wine, courtesy of Jesús Ramírez. Kelly thanked us warmly, as you can see in the photos.
As a memento and token of gratitude, they also gave us the official setlist—the one the musicians have on stage—and not a photocopy, as you can see in the photo, it was handwritten with a marker.
Another gift they gave us was a sketch of the stage layout, showing the placement of instruments, microphones, etc. They also gave us the towel Kelly used on his shiny head during the concert.
On a personal note, at the start of the show, with all the spotlights on, I noticed that Kelly recognized me, and it thrilled me that he gave me a wink from the stage. It’s clear that the efforts of the current ASDEELO board are paying off, and these great musicians have noticed that, as the only official fan club, they will always have our support, and we’ll be there to embrace them every time they come here. No doubt about it.
Lastly, I’d like to send greetings to María Sales, Fernando Carrasco and his wife, José Manuel Cordón, José Carlos Blanco, Francisco de Paula, José Luis and Erika, Jesús Ramírez, his sister, and the whole crew you brought along… and to tell you that I enjoyed myself like a kid once again—before the show, hanging out at the shopping center, and afterward, seeing you all so happy, bouncing and singing along like crazy to the classic ELO songs in such a great atmosphere that San Fernando provided.
